Overview

Colonna's Shipyard is currently hiring a Senior Contracts Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the overhaul or repair implementation plan, and be involved in daily actions, negotiations, and disputes
  • Recognizing potential problems early, recommending solutions, and implementing corrections
  • Correlate with Accounting, Production and Estimating to develop metrics and reports, as required
  • Continuous monitoring of progress throughout project or multiple projects
  • Tracking problems that were encountered during the project and the solutions that were implemented
  • Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and repair problems
  • Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients,
  • Compare progress to cost and schedule, identify problem areas and take corrective action
  • Ensure that production performs work in accordance with established procedures and regulatory body requirements
  • Ensure that all issues raised are resolved in a timely manner
  • Effectively communicate to production employees the importance of completing work according to the job quality standards in the contract
  • Manage of shipyards approval of terms and conditions for bids, and purchase orders
  • Financial tracking of work under contract, to include the administration of contract modifications and invoices
  • Negotiate contract change orders
  • Lead organization in disputes and issue with customers, to include REAs and claims
  • Other duties may be assigned as workload dictates

Qualifications

  • Experience with negotiations at a high level
  • Have written, defended, and negotiated REAs, Claims, and disputes
  • Excellent working knowledge of FAR, DFAR, and UCC
  • Understanding of terms and conditions, insurance requirements, and contract requirements
  • Previous experience with Ship Repair a must
  • Excellent written and oral communicator
