Overview

Colonna's Shipyard, Inc. is looking to obtain experienced associates within Quality Assurance Department of our Norfolk Headquarters.


We are pleased to accept resumes for our Fabrication Welding Inspector position. A Level 2 VT Inspector or ASNT Level 2 Inspector will also be considered.


This is a direct hire position with competitive pay, based on experience and growth potential.

Responsibilities

Daily duties involve inspecting fabrication projects in accordance to code and specs. This includes monitoring  and inspecting in-process welding and inspect weldments in accordance with AWS / ABS / MIL SPEC environments consistently.

Qualifications

  • AWS certified weld inspector (CWI), structural is a must.
  • 5/7 years experience in manufacturing, ship building or ship repair, which includes 3 years performing in a role with quality related responsibilities.
  • knowledge of quality techniques and systems, including quality specifications and/or advanced quality systems.
  • Prefer an in-depth knowledge of ISO 9001 standards, but can train
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft office products.
  • Experience with customer relations strongly preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Able to work overtime, if requested. Typical hours will be 1st shift, but the availability to work 2nd shift and overtime will be required.
